So do y’all all remember back in 2012 when we had all of those horrid tiebreakers at the Olympics? And how much they sucked for every single person involved? Grace ( decencybedamned ) and I kinda just decided we’re going to do something about it. So we wrote a letter.

Because we’re both also royal fans and Britain’s Princess Anne is an IOC member, she was the first recipient who came to mind. However, we will also be making some minor changes to make a more general version to send to IOC members from other countries affected by tiebreaks at the 2012 Games.

The reason I’m telling you all about this is because we would like for everyone on the gymternet who thinks the tiebreak is unfair and harmful to cosign this letter before we send it. I plan to mail it on the 15th around noon CST, which gives you a little less than five days. Here is what you have to do to add your support:

Message Grace or myself with your name (first and last) and country of residence. If you wish, you may also add a description of your role in the gym community- e.g. “coach”, “gymnast”, “fan”. So mine would look like:

Danelle Pecht, USA, recreational gymnast and fan.

You may send your name in on anon if you wish, and we will not share your info with anyone. (I do not use a url tracker and I don’t think Grace does either.) We just need real names because it wouldn’t be proper to stick a list of tumblr urls on it, this is more formal.

The full text of the letter, minus headings and such, is under the cut for your perusal. inB4 2 per country- we have to pick our battles and the tiebreak one will be much easier to win.
